Release the bots! There are only three basic things you need to do:

Free Tool Step 1 - UPLOAD. Upload your resume using LinkedIn’s Easy Apply in response to a job you believe you are both qualified for and would be excited to have. Set your account to confidential.

WHY do you want to upload at least one job under Easy Apply?
Because LinkedIn tracks the jobs you are applying for and how well keywords from your resume match the job requirements. Then ATS will start gradually sending you leads on similar jobs.

WHY you should avoid the "Open for Work" icon and instead set up the feature that signals recruiters confidentially?
Because most recruiters do not want to feel like their candidate is desperate. It may sound petty, but it's true! They would rather hire you away from another employer or at the very least, take someone who is not "begging" for a job!

Some recruiters will tell you conventional wisdom is that the unemployed may not be as up to date or current with their skillsets.  Regardless of the reason, to win the game, play the game!

Free Tool Step 2 - SAVE. Save jobs (without applying) using LinkedIn’s save function

WHY do you want to use the LinkedIn save function even on jobs you have not applied for?
Because LinkedIn ATS will track your saves and will determine what percentage of your resume keywords match the jobs you are saving in order to decide on the best "Job Leads" to send you!

Free Tool Step 3 - KEYWORDS. Decide what the most important keywords are and work them into your profile as well as your resume. Do NOT copy and paste your resume into your profile. Instead, ensure your keywords are noticed (logged) by uploading your resume into LinkedIn Jobs Easy Apply.

In our next lesson, learn where to obtain a free ATS account and how to use it to identify an employer's keywords for specific target jobs!
